Shettar's BJP Return: Political Twist

"I am rejoining with the belief Narendra Modiji has to become PM again," said Shettar, a staunch follower of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Visuals showed him warmly received by BJP chief JP Nadda, followed by discussions with Yediyurappa.

Shettar explained his switch, mentioning "some issues" and BJP workers' urging. The Congress, via Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, pointedly noted Shettar's move after feeling "disrespected" by the BJP.

Shettar's Congress stint followed BJP's denial of a ticket in the 2023 Karnataka election. Yediyurappa regretted Shettar's departure, promising Rajya Sabha membership and ministerial roles.

Shettar, a prominent figure in the Lingayat community, pivotal in Karnataka politics, faces the challenge of rebuilding BJP's standing post his community's support loss to Congress in the last state election.
